First 1,000 MW of Solar Power Generation

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed that the bidding process for the first phase of 1,000 MW of solar panels will commence the following week.

During a review meeting about how energy-saving measures are being put into place in the country, the status of the solarization project was given. The prime minister was informed that 1,000 MW of solar panels will be put on federal government buildings in the first phase and that the bidding procedure for the first phase will begin the following week.

The meeting was also informed that the policymaking process for the manufacturing of solar panels at the local level in the nation has entered its final phases, including the completion of consultations with solar panel-producing enterprises.

Regarding electronic bikes, the meeting was informed that a complete strategy is being developed to enhance their production in the country, with the suggestion that a process is now underway to electrify all motorcycles in the country.

At the conclusion of the year, all industries should be moved to the consensus reached at the summit.

The gathering was also informed that by the end of this year, not only will all new gas geysers be manufactured with gas-saving conical baffles, but they will also be installed in all existing gas geysers.

Regarding the manufacturing of filament/substandard old light bulbs with high energy consumption, their production will be prohibited after the depletion of current stocks, and companies will be required to produce new technology bulbs with low energy consumption. There will be a transfer.

Similarly, high-power-consumption fan manufacturers across the nation will soon be converted to the new technology, and a thorough strategy has been developed to replace the old fans with consumers.

The prime minister ordered that these actions be completed within the stipulated time frame.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the finance minister Ishaq Dar, the defence minister Khawaja Asif, the power minister Khurram Dastgir Khan, the prime minister’s adviser Ahad Cheema, the minister of state Dr. Mussadik Malik, and others attended the meeting.
