The project is anticipated to be completely authorised and ready for construction by June of this year, with an expenditure of around €90 million ($97,2 million).

The project will be located in Jekabpils, in the country’s central-eastern region, and will encompass an area of 151 hectares.

Since the beginning of the year, the Lithuanian developer has launched multiple projects after getting finance for 69MW of solar plants in Poland and selling 152MW of late-stage solar projects in Spain to the Swedish developer OX2.

The firm is present in eight European nations, most of which are in Eastern Europe, and has a 1.5GW project pipeline.

Simonas ileikis, the head of solar business at Green Genius, stated, “Latvia has excellent potential for solar PV development due to its favourable terms and fair regulations. We’ve been investigating this for quite some time. I am pleased to announce the launch of a project that will have a significant influence on Latvia’s sustainability and energy independence.”

Green Genius joined the Latvian market in 2019 with smaller-scale B2B solutions and a long-term growth plan for large-scale renewable energy projects.
