Trina Solar has introduced bifacial dual-glass TOPCon solar modules for rooftop PV.

The Chinese firm stated that its new TSM-NEG9RC.27 and TSM-NEG18R.28 integrate n-type technology with 210mm rectangular silicon wafer (210R) cell technology. Their temperature coefficient is -0.29% per degree Celsius, and their efficiency ranges between 22.3% and 22.7%.

Trina Solar, a Chinese solar module manufacturer, has presented two new rooftop solar modules built on tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) cell technology.

According to the firm, the new 144-cell devices have a bifacial dual-glass design that combines n-type technology with 210mm rectangular silicon wafer (210R) cell technology.

One of the modules, TSM-NEG9RC.27, is designed for use on residential and small commercial roofs. It is offered in seven different models, with power outputs ranging from 415 W to 445 W and efficiencies varying from 20.8% to 22.3%.

Its open-circuit voltage ranges from 50.1 V to 52.6 V, with a short-circuit current of 10.50 A to 10.71 A. It measures 1,762 mm × 1,134 mm × 30 mm and weighs 21.0 kg.

The second product, TSM-NEG18R.28, is specifically developed for commercial and industrial rooftops. The panel is available in seven configurations, with a power range of 475 W to 505 W and an efficiency of 21.4% to 22.7%.

This panel has an open-circuit voltage of 39.0 to 40.3 V and a short-circuit current of 15.68 to 15.89 A. The measurements are 1,961 mm × 1,134 mm × 30 mm, and it weighs 23.5 kg.

Both models have IP 68 enclosures and can support a maximum system voltage of 1,500 V. They have a temperature coefficient of -0.29% per C and a working temperature range of -40 C to 85 C.

The panels carry a 15-year product guarantee and a 30-year performance warranty. The deterioration in the first year was reportedly 1.0%. The 30-year end power output is guaranteed to be at least 87.4% of the nominal output power.
