A major milestone in clean energy has just been reached in northwestern China, where a 1.3 GW solar-storage power plant featuring Trinasolar’s Vertex N modules has been successfully connected to the grid. The cutting-edge facility is expected to generate around 2.1 billion kWh of clean electricity annually — enough to save 620,000 tons of standard coal and cut CO₂ emissions by an estimated 1.61 million tons each year.

This remarkable achievement highlights Trinasolar’s growing impact on sustainability and its commitment to the global energy transition.

Turning Deserts into Powerhouses

Desertification has long hampered development in many regions, but utility-scale solar projects like this are flipping the script. With the use of high-performance PV technology, such areas are now being transformed into productive energy hubs.

Trinasolar’s solutions — including its modules, trackers, and energy storage systems — are specially designed for desert and arid environments, such as the Gobi Desert, offering lower LCOE, high sandstorm resistance, strong operational reliability, and maximum energy yield.

🌍 Trinasolar’s Global Impact

This project is just one example of Trinasolar’s expanding global footprint. Here are other recent success stories:

  • In Saudi Arabia, Trinasolar’s Vertex N 700W+ modules now supply 20% of the daily energy needs at the Jubail 3A desalination plant.
  • In Uzbekistan, 2,618 Vanguard-2P trackers were delivered for the Navoi Power Station, the country’s first large-scale PV facility — a project that created jobs and boosted the local economy.
  • In Dunhuang, Gansu Province, a 120 MW PV plant using the Vanguard 2P system has already delivered significant economic and environmental benefits.
  • In Qinghai Province, a 380 MW solar plant was connected to the grid in November, utilizing 210mm high-efficiency modules and smart trackers.
  • In the Ulan Buh Desert, the 100 MW Desert Management, Energy Storage and PV Project uses Vertex modules and a 30MW/60MWh energy storage system to provide stable and efficient power in the Alxa League, Inner Mongolia.

Trinasolar’s Vision for the Future
