Tongwei has reached an agreement with the government of Nantong, which is located in the province of Jiangsu, to spend CNY 4 billion ($570 million) in a new module plant that would have a 25 GW of annual projected capacity. The new manufacturing facility is scheduled to be put into operation by the corporation before the end of the year after that. Additionally, Tongwei revealed in September its intentions to construct a 25 GW facility in Yancheng, which is located in the province of Jiangsu.

JA Solar has said that it will spend CNY 11.5 billion to add 10 GW of new wafer capacity and 10 GW of new cell capacity to its plant in Shijiazhuang, which is in the province of Hebei. The solar cell maker will also increase the capacity of its manufacturing plant in Dongtai, which is located in the province of Jiangsu, by 10 gigawatts of photovoltaic cells and 10 gigawatts of modules. At the moment, it has a panel capacity of around 50 GW.
