Chinese PV Industry Brief: From January to May, 61.21 GW of solar panels were put in place.

The National Energy Administration (NEA) says that China installed 61.21 GW of solar in the first five months of this year, taking the country's total installed PV power to almost 453 GW by the end of May.

The NEA says that by the end of May 2023, China had put in place about 453 GW of PV power. In the first five months of this year, the country installed 61.21 GW of new photovoltaic (PV) systems, and 12.9 GW of those were put in place in May alone. In April, 14.65 GW were added, while in March, 13.29 GW were added. In the first two months of the year, 20.37 GW of new PV power was added.

Longi said it wants to give global depository receipts (GDRs) to qualified foreign investors and other investors who meet the requirements on the SIX Swiss Exchange. The company says that the net profits from the sale will reach CNY 20 billion ($2.78 billion) and will be used to support its plans to expand production in China, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

China Resources Power says it wants to put its company, China Resources New Energy Holdings Ltd., on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in the second half of 2023. The parent company will keep at least 70% of CR New Energy. It will use the money from the IPO to pay for the growth of wind and solar power projects in China and for general operating capital needs.
