In Pakistan: Scatec Starts 150 MW Solar Power Plants to Operate Commercially

In Sukkur, Pakistan, Scatec ASA has completed the building of its 150 MW solar facilities and started producing renewable energy. According to 25-year USD-indexed power purchase agreements with Pakistan's Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), these facilities are anticipated to produce about 300 GWh yearly.

Operating, maintenance, and asset management services will be provided by Scatec, which will own a 75% financial interest in the projects. The local partner of Scatec, Nizam Energy, owns the remaining shares. Non-recourse project debt is provided by the Dutch development bank FMO, Faysal Bank, Bank of Punjab, Bank Islami, and Pak Kuwait Investment Company.

The power plants will provide Pakistanis with much-needed renewable energy, enough to power around 150,000 families while also fostering the sustainable development of local value.
