PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (“Huadong Engineering”) contracted JA Solar’s DeepBlue 3.0 bifacial double-glass modules for this project. It is Malaysia’s largest ever single-axis tracking PV installation.

This project, located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, has a total installed capacity of 116MW and encompasses around 600 hectares. It is anticipated to supply 220 million kWh of power per year and cover the demands of 200,000 families, while minimising carbon emissions by 200,000 tonnes per year and reducing normal coal use by 80,000 tonnes per year.

DeepBlue 3.0, an advanced line of PV modules produced by JA Solar, was released in May of 2020. From 2020 to June 2022, a total of 24 GW of the product was sent around the globe. In order to fulfil fluctuating market needs, JA Solar is committed to enhancing its own technological research and innovation in order to enhance the power generation performance of PV modules. DeepBlue 4.0 X, JA Solar’s first product for the n-type PV module market, was introduced in May 2022. DeepBlue 4.0 X possesses not just the performance benefits of DeepBlue 3.0, but also superior efficiency, power, power generating capabilities, and dependability. DeepBlue 3.0 and DeepBlue 4.0 X both demonstrate JA Solar’s “customised to increase client value” product design concept.

JA Solar has already delivered high-efficiency modules for several significant projects in Malaysia, including as the first floating PV power plant, the first bifacial-plus-trackers project, etc., garnering widespread acclaim in the nation. In 2021, JA Solar’s market share in Malaysia surpassed fifty percent, making a substantial contribution to the local PV sector. JA Solar will continue to service high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) products for the Malaysian market in the future, contributing to the region’s sustainable growth.

In recent years, Huadong Engineering has become one of the most important contractors in the field of renewable energy. Its total contracted PV project capacity at home and abroad has gone over 3 million kW and includes projects in more than ten countries, such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, and Malaysia. In the past several years, JA Solar and Huadong Engineering have created a cooperative agreement in which the scope of their overseas PV projects exceeds 2 GW. As partners in the Belt and Road Initiative, the two sides will continue to work together to bring green development to the world and reach carbon neutrality as soon as possible.
