Along with its first project, SAAD 300 MWac, which was granted in 2022 and is currently being built, this is a big step forward for Jinko Power’s plan to grow its business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). As of this latest addition, Jinko Power has a total of 700 MW of projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with another 110 MW still being built. This makes it one of the biggest developers in the Kingdom’s green energy market. The project is in Al-Jouf Province, KSA, about 17 km northeast of the city of Tabarjal. SPPC will buy electricity from the project through a PPA that lasts for 25 years. The building work is set to happen between 2024 and 2025. The plant will use bifacial solar panels, which are the newest technology, and will get sunlight on both the front and back of the panels. This will make the process of making energy more efficient. The plant should cut KSA’s CO2 emissions by more than 717 thousand metric tons per year once it’s up and running. “We are thrilled to keep up our good luck in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with our second successful tender submission in the three years since we first came to the KSA,” said Charles Bai, President of JinkoPower International Business. “This award shows our dedication to the Kingdom’s plan for renewable energy, and I look forward to seeing these projects come together and be built successfully.” For making the bidding process fair and quick, SPPC and the Ministry of Energy deserve praise. This made it possible for foreign producers like us to join the market and do well there. “We are very interested in future pipeline projects because they have a lot of potential and are in line with our strategy to reduce carbon emissions and increase renewable energy generation in the Kingdom,” he said.

The vice president of JinkoPower International Business, Mothana Qteishat, said, “We are very proud that JinkoPower has won two tenders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, giving us a perfect record when it comes to participating in tenders there.” This means that JinkoPower will own 700 MW in the kingdom thanks to the Tabarjal and Saad projects. We will have strong roots in KSA after completing the financial close for the SAAD project and signing the PPA for the Tabarjal project. This will pave the way for many more wins in the Kingdom.
