JinkoSolar has announced a new milestone in solar efficiency, achieving a 33.84% power conversion rate for its perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell. This result, certified by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), surpasses the company’s previous record of 33.24%.

The breakthrough leverages JinkoSolar’s N-type monocrystalline TOPCon solar cell technology, enhanced by advancements in passivated contact and defect passivation technologies.

While JinkoSolar’s achievement is notable, Longi still holds the world record for perovskite-tandem efficiency at 34.6%, achieved in September 2024. Researchers believe that with further innovation, the efficiency of these cells could potentially reach 39.5%.

This progress highlights the rapid advancements in tandem solar cell technology, pushing the boundaries of renewable energy innovation.
