JinkoSolar has developed new solar panel technology with a full recycling process for the new era of clean energy.

JinkoSolar has come up with a new way to recycle solar panels. With this method, 92% of the materials in the panel can be recycled. This includes all of the solar cells, the front glass, the back sheet, the aluminum frame, the copper wire, the encapsulation material, the junction box, and other parts.

JinkoSolar uses thermal and mechanical processes to separate the glass and the silicon wafer. They also take advantage of the different melting points of encapsulation materials like thermoset EVA/POE when the module is heated to take it apart. This means that the materials don’t mix together, making it hard to separate them and leaving them incomplete. When the encapsulation material breaks down and solar modules are no longer useful, they can be easily taken apart into their different parts. So, glass, ribbon, and other things can be taken off the panel as a whole, instead of as pellets. As a result, this process not only makes sure that the materials are pure, but it also lets silver be taken out of the solar wafers while they are still whole.

Through this recycling process, about 99% of the important materials in solar panels, like silver, silicon, copper, and aluminium, can be taken out of used panels and reused or returned to the supply chain. This creates a circular solar economy.

With this recycling technology and its large-scale commercialization, JinkoSolar’s EOL panels will be recycled instead of going to a landfill. When it comes to recycling products, JinkoSolar has always stuck to a policy of not burning anything and putting out less carbon.
