A number of unnamed solar module firms have received n-type TOPCon technology patents from inkoSolar.
Unknown PV manufacturers can use JinkoSolar’s patented TOPCon technologies by paying licencing fees. The company has not released any fees or product information, although it claims ownership of 330 TOPCon technology patents.
“This IP transaction between JinkoSolar and Licensee is a strategic win-win move by both companies, potentially strengthening the respective positions of the two companies in the markets,” according to a statement issued by JinkoSolar.
Various high-tech businesses engage in patent transactions to stimulate innovation, collaboration, and the avoidance of legal conflicts, therefore JinkoSolar’s decision is not unique to the PV sector.
