JinkoSolar has established a new world record for the efficiency of n-type solar cells at 26.1%. China’s National Institute of Metrology has recognized the accomplishment, marking the seventh time Jinko has set the bar for n-type cell efficiency with its tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) technology. This beats Jinko’s previous record of 26.1%, which was disclosed in October. Together with its R&D partners, Jinko came up with a hydrogenation process that was a key part of the success. This, along with ultrafine metallization, a better diffusion process, and a few changes to the materials, were also important.
Longi announced that its Longi Lerri v subsidiary has signed an agreement with the government of Wuhu, Anhui Province, to build a 15 GW solar module facility. The corporation will invest 3 billion yuan ($423 million) on the new facility.
Gaoce inked an agreement with the Henan provincial government to invest CNY 210 million in 5 GW of wafer capacity. The wafer supplier has a total capacity of 52 GW, which includes what has been built, what is being built, and what is expected to be built.
Trina Solar has placed an order with its joint venture with Tongwei, Tonghe New Energy, to purchase 10.6 GW of monocrystalline PERC cell products in 2023. It was said that 2,368 MW will consist of 182 mm cells and 8,215 MW will consist of 210 mm products. Trina Solar owns 35% of Tonghe, while Tongwei owns 65%.
JinkoSolar’s n-type TOPCon solar cell has an efficiency of 26.1%, according to a recent report on the Chinese photovoltaic (PV)
With its TOPCon technology, JinkoSolar has set a new world record for the efficiency of n-type solar cells, and Longi has said it will build a 10 GW module facility in Anhui province.
