A technical team under the direction of Dr. Li Mengyuan, Vice President of Product Management Centre from LONGi, attended the technical conference known as Solar Quarter Business Meet 2023. Attending the conference and participating in the panel discussion were experts from ACWA Power, EDF, L&T, and other organisations.

During the occasion, LONGi was recognised by Solar Quarter Middle East with the ‘Best Solar Technology of the Year’ award for its excellent technological and innovative accomplishments.

Discussions at the conference focused on new developments in large-scale solar projects in Saudi Arabia, how they would affect the programme and structure for renewable energy, and how grid interconnection and large energy storage systems should be planned to support the efficient operation of extremely large power plants.

Dr. Li explained that Hi-MO 7 is based on HPDC cell technology, which is essentially another cutting-edge instance of “first principle thinking” when looking at how LONGi modules could be coupled with the newest tracking and inverter systems to reduce LCOE and BOS costs at the Middle East’s large-scale plants.

Another improved version of HPC cell technology is the HPDC (High Performance and Hybrid Passivated Dual-Junction Cell), which has high and low junctions on the back of the cell, an optimised film design, and cutting-edge deposition techniques to achieve full-area passivation with minimal parasitic absorption. on increase cell efficiency, a local low-resistance contact layer is put on the front side.

In conclusion, the enhanced HPDC cell offers superior power temperature coefficient, conversion efficiency, and reliability, which may greatly increase power generation gains.

Dr. Li continued, “LONGi provides customised solutions, focusing on long-term value to both clients and the solar market, when presented with specific requirements for various application scenarios, especially those which can help with the robust output of the module itself, the solar systems, and even entire solar PV power stations throughout the life cycle. She emphasised that Hi-MO 7 has undergone extensive evaluation, development, and testing and offers world-class product quality and long-term dependability. Hi-MO 7 has already significantly decreased the LCOE of large-scale solar projects in the Gobi desert by improving energy generation output throughout the entire life cycle.
