LONGi has been acknowledged as the “2023 Overall Highest Achiever” in the yearly PV Module Index (PVMI) released by the Renewable Energy Test Centre (RETC). RETC has consistently released its esteemed rankings for five consecutive years, with LONGi being the sole firm acknowledged as an Overall High Achiever in each edition.
RETC, a prominent engineering service and certification testing supplier for the solar sector, is headquartered in Fremont, California. Additionally, the PVMI serves as a reliable resource for financiers and developers seeking to choose modules of superior quality. The Research and Evaluation Testing Centre (RETC) conducts comprehensive assessments on various modules for a duration of 12 months. These evaluations encompass 11 tests that cover the domains of quality, performance, and dependability. Manufacturers that demonstrate exceptional performance in all three areas are awarded the prestigious Overall Highest Achievement distinction. In the year 2023, LONGi received the prestigious Overall Highest Achiever award, which was bestowed upon them in appreciation of their exceptional performance in many areas including module efficiency, light-induced degradation, PAN files, damp heat, and thermal cycle.
Steven Chan, the general manager for North America at LONGi, expressed great pride in being acknowledged as an Overall Highest Achiever by RETC once more. The award received by RETC serves as a validation of their commitment to delivering exceptional client value via the attainment of high quality, performance, and dependability. This validation is attributed to RETC’s extensive bankability testing, which surpasses the minimum requirements of module safety and certification standards.
Cherif Kedir, President and CEO of RETC, stated that LONGi has been acknowledged as an Overall Highest Achiever in the annual PV Module Index Report for the fifth consecutive year. The remarkable year-on-year development of LONGi, being the sole module firm acknowledged by RETC as the top performer in each edition of its PV Module Index Report, is an unparalleled accomplishment.
According to Kedir, it is crucial for project stakeholders to maintain a state of constant vigilance towards technological hazards, considering the rapid speed of change in the sector and the limited time available between invention and mass production. LONGi is effectively reducing technological risks and uncertainties, and so contributing to the advancement of a secure and environmentally friendly solar-powered future, via its unwavering dedication to ensuring the quality, performance, and dependability of its modules.
The attainment of the fifth consecutive Overall Highest Achievement award by LONGi underscores the company’s strong emphasis on research and development and its commitment to developing procedures in order to meet the industry’s most stringent quality and reliability benchmarks. LONGi has been at the forefront of solar technology advancements for almost two decades since its establishment. The company has played a pioneering role in many generations of solar technology, such as monocrystalline wafers, PERC cells, and bifacial modules. Additionally, LONGi has made significant contributions to the industry by developing stringent performance and reliability testing standards. LONGi is now recognised as the most esteemed solar technology enterprise globally, boasting an impressive production capacity of 133 GW for mono silicon wafers, 50 GW for cell capacity, and 85 GW for module exports in the year 2022. These figures signify a substantial portion, around one-fourth, of the total worldwide market demand.
