LONGi increases its Swedish partnerships.

LONGi, the world's largest manufacturer of solar modules, has expanded its alliances with Swedish solar installers April ice and Senergia. The two companies were the first in the world to acquire and implement LONGi's most recent and innovative technology. Following the release of the manufacturer's new "Hi-MO 6" module series in November 2022, the first global examples were shipped to the Nordic market and are now being installed by two companies in Stockholm.

Aprilice’s CEO Jingwei Cheng stated, “We were anxious to expand our cooperation with LONGi and order the new series due to its light and compact format of 1.7 by 1.1 metres and substantial 2 to 3% efficiency increase. In addition, the HPBC cell technology has no visible silver-colored busbars, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing product. In addition, the new technology has reduced the rate of degradation by 25 percent, suggesting a significant improvement in long-term performance.”

The first Hi-MO 6 rooftop array installed by Senergia consists of 28 425W modules and has a total capacity of 11.9kWp, producing approximately 12,000kWh of electricity annually. According to the Swedish Consumer Energy Markets Bureau, this will cover close to sixty percent of the average Swedish household’s annual electricity consumption of 20,000 kWh. The homeowner who received the first shipment of the new panels explained, “Reliability, efficacy, design, and price were all crucial factors in our decision. When the LONGi module was presented to us as an option, we felt that all of these factors had been accounted for.”

Explicit expansion of the Nordic photovoltaic sector

Sweden has doubled the rate of solar capacity growth in 2022, in addition to being a leader in implementing technological advances. The Swedish solar market installed 1 GW in 2018, increasing the country’s total photovoltaic capacity to 2.6 GW, up from 500 MW in 2021. It is anticipated that the Nordic countries will install approximately 13 GW of new capacity by 2030.
