As PV applications continue to diversify, the requirements for module performance have increased. The Hi-MO 5 series is intended to withstand a broad variety of demanding environmental conditions and constantly provide clients with the appropriate solution.
Despite the fact that Bangladesh is one of the fastest-growing economies in South Asia and that there are incentives, such as tax relief measures, in place to entice private sector investment, there is still an electrical supply constraint, especially in rural regions. The country’s renewable energy resources are limited, accounting for only 2.95 percent of total power output, resulting in a fast expanding need for clean energy.
LONGi has a strong track record of engagement in Bangladesh projects over the past two years, having supplied modules for the 73 MW Mymensingh power plant in 2020 and the 134.3 MW Mongla facility in 2021, both of which were the largest in the country at the time. In October 2021, LONGi inked a contract with a large domestic consortium, Beximco, for the delivery of modules for a 280 MW ground-mounted plant, marking another significant step in the company’s efforts to assist Bangladesh in reaching its renewable energy ambitions. The project is anticipated to be grid-connected by the end of 2022.
