Profils Systèmes’ PV veranda may be installed in new and existing structures.

“We developed this product more than fifteen years ago,” Profils Systèmes sales manager Denis Bounio told pv magazine France, adding rising power prices have revived it.

The Wallis&Energy photovoltaic veranda is a grid-connected PV system that can support 500 W solar modules and panels from several manufacturers.

Photovoltaic panels range from 700 mm x 1,000 mm to 1,210 mm x 1,800 mm. Their thickness is 26–50 mm, and the insulating panel filling is 32–55 mm. The generators might be opaque on insulating panels or semi-transparent on insulating glazing.

Solar modules with ridges and troughs above the insulating panels allow electricity lines to pass. The equipment can have a box of remote roller shutters, spotlight or LED strip support, and blind support.

“It’s an interesting solution when you want to enlarge your house, especially since administrative procedures have been simplified and photovoltaic panels now yield more,” Bounio said.

EPDM-sealed insulating panels waterproof 5% slopes. Veranda roof panels increase insulation by reducing heat loss via the ceiling.

Profils Systèmes is a Groupe Corialis company in Baillargues, France.
