Sungrow recently unveiled a power optimizer for solar panels on rooftops.

Sungrow's new power optimizer has an estimated input power of 600 W, a maximum efficiency rating of 99.4%, and a weighted efficiency rating of 98.8%. It can hold up to 30 modules per string.

Sungrow, a Chinese company that makes inverters, has come out with a new power booster that can be used in rooftop PV systems.

“Sungrow’s innovative shade-proof smart control technology lets the SP600S optimise each module separately,” the company said in a statement. “To deal with the constantly changing shading conditions caused by the sun’s different angles and directions, Sungrow’s shade-proof control technology checks the modules’ sun exposure in real time.”

The device has a maximum efficiency of 99.4% and a weighted efficiency of 98.8%. It can handle an input power of 600 W. It has an output current of up to 16 A and an output voltage of up to 80 V.

The device has an IP68 cover and is 86 mm by 108 mm by 25 mm. It weighs 0.5 kg. The company that made the new product said it could boost the power output of a PV system by 4% to 30%, based on how the array is being used.

“It can fit up to 30 modules per string for optimal installation capacity, and it supports mixed installation of strings of different lengths and modules with different power ratings, which makes the system design process more flexible,” said Sungrow.
