TOPCon solar modules now available from Canadian Solar

Canadian Solar has stated that it would commence mass manufacturing of TOPCon-based solar modules in the first quarter of 2023.

The Chinese-Canadian maker of solar modules stated that the modules will have a power output of 690 W, a cell efficiency of 25.0%, and a bifaciality factor of over 85.0%.

Canadian Solar will provide a varied portfolio of TOPCon products to address the demands of utility-scale, commercial, and residential sectors, according to a company release. The TOPCon portfolio consists of 182mm cell-based bifacial TOPBiHiKu6 (555 W to 570 W) and monofacial TOPHiKu6 (420 W to 575 W) modules, as well as 210mm cell-based bifacial TOPBiHiKu7 (615 W to 690 W) modules.

In 2023, the firm anticipates that TOPCon module shipments will account for around 30 percent of its overall panel shipments.
