Trina Solar revealed off-n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology in May, which is used in the Vertex N 700W+ series modules. In Qinghai province, the first n-type i-TOPCon cells came off the line at the beginning of August. The efficiency of cells made in large quantities has now hit 25.8%. Trina Solar’s cell capacity will reach 75 GW by the end of this year. This includes 40 GW of n-type cells, which are all built with n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology.
RETC has done a lot of tests on the Vertex N 700W+ line of modules and found that they pass all of them. A UL Panfile test report found that Trina Solar Vertex N modules do better than p-type modules when it comes to temperature coefficient and settings in low light. Simulations in three average cities show that Vertex N modules can increase annual power production by up to 3.96 percent compared to p-type modules.
End buyers also give high marks to Vertex N parts. Trina Solar has gained a lot of service experience at big utility power plants as a result. The saltwater desalination plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, recently started using Vertex N 700W+ series modules for a solar power plant project. Vertex N 700W+ series modules are also being used to build a 500MW solar power station in Xinghai County, in the province of Qinghai.
Trina Solar wants partners in the industrial chain to work together to speed up mass production of n-type technology and high power modules, which will help customers.Trina Solar leads the industry with its n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology, scenario-based Vertex N portfolio, and combined solutions in the n-type age.
