According to Adele Zhao, Head of Product Solution & Marketing Europe at Trina Solar, N-type modules based on i-TOPCon technology will dominate worldwide production this year, while high-power modules like the Vertex N 720W+ series will lead the way in the 700W+ category. She made the remark while delivering a keynote address at a technology conference in March 2024.
Trina Solar has improved its i-TOPContechnology and achieved an additional 0.3% boost in cell efficiency by laser induced firing, building on the industry-leading 210mm product technology platform and n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology innovation. The updated Vertex N 720W+ modules may achieve a module efficiency of 23.2%, while the smaller Vertex N 625W+ modules have a module efficiency of 23.1%.
The Vertex N 720W+series module, an excellent member of the Vertex N product line, provides the lowest LCOE for utility-scale ground-mounted solar farms with flat terrain, thanks to its low voltage characteristic that allows for high string power and consequently low system cost.
Vertex N 625W+ modules are ideal for small and medium-sized ground-mounted solar farms, especially those with complicated terrain or irregular shapes. They provide significant flexibility in system design and are highly compatible with tracking systems. Trina Solar created the Vertex N 625W+module, which measures 2,382mm by 1,134mm and is currently widely used as a standard module layout in the industry.
Following Trina Solar’s initiative to standardise 700W+ module dimensions and upgrade the Photovoltaic Open Innovation Ecological Alliance at the end of 2023, the Vertex N 720W+ series products position the firm to lead the industry into the 700W+ era.
Trina Solar continues to push the industry to industrialise 700W+ PV modules by emphasising ultra-high-power and ultra-high-efficiency options. The firm will continue to develop with its mainstream n-type i-TOPCon technology and products, providing increased customer value through sophisticated technology, dependable goods, and solutions.
