Trina Solar starts a project to standardize 700W+ modules and upgrade alliances in order to push the 700W+ trend, collaborating with five other manufacturers.

The 700W+ Photovoltaic Open Innovation Ecological Alliance was formed by Trina Solar in collaboration with five other top manufacturers: Astronergy, Canadian Solar, Risen Energy, TCL Zhonghuan, and Tongwei.

Based on the industry-accepted dimensions for 700W+ ultra-high power modules (module size: 2384 x 1303 mm; module long-side vertical hole distance: 400 mm/1400 mm) and the “T/CPIA 0003-2022 Technical Specification for Crystalline Silicon Terrestrial Photovoltaic Module Dimensions and Mounting Holes” document published by the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, the six manufacturers have proposed that all 700W modules in PV companies should follow these dimensions. Additionally, a hole distance of 790 mm has been added to the standard. The group has also declared that it is imperative that businesses provide cutting-edge and effective technologies and application solutions, both upstream and downstream in the industry.

Improving power output and module efficiency to lower LCOE has become a market trend that cannot be stopped. The companies stated that the PV industry entered the 600W+ era three years ago thanks to the efforts of the PV Open Innovation Eco Alliance, and that with the use of G12 (210mm) large-format wafer technology and n-type high-efficiency cell technology, such as TOPCon and HJT, module power output was subsequently upgraded from 600W+ to 700W+.
